High Fashion Hair Couture
Hair in the 1980’s became obstreperous
(think Cyndi Lauper – Girls Just Want To Have Fun), and today a similar insurgence
echoes. What are we referring to? A little known cutting technique called
undercutting that has roots back to the 1920’s when men wore short cut sides
and backs with length through the top that did not blend. Today we see
variations of this rogue couture hair worn by Lindsay Pavao, Lee Jae Jin, Pink,
and Cassie to name a few. The
beauty of this vivacious look is that it ranges from chic whispering, to in
vogue shouting, to down right du jour screaming; and to further play up the cut’s
boldness pop art color is being used.
The bejeweled coloring technique pushes the limits of edgy urbanity
without crossing over the line of punk while offering women the chance to fashion their hair color even more eye-catching.
