SUMMER, BEACH, AND HAIR COLOR

Summer, Beach, and Hair Color

Ladies and gentlemen your ultimate protection while frolicking in the sun is must. What’s more, is that for you ladies your hair color, its condition, and shine are all being jeopardized while living it up at the beach or by the pool. Blonde hair color becomes sallow, brassy, and straw like during summer. Deeper brunette hair color can go reddish while lighter brunettes go golden if lucky. Next thing you know, you need a color touch up. Redheads glow amber or better yet strawberry, but your fairer delicate skin should keep you from going out in those damaging rays for hours on end. Don’t be fooled redheads. Whatever way you slice it, the sun is not a friend to anyone’s hair.

Damaging UV rays cause the hairs’ cuticle to dull, dehydrated, and promotes hair frizz. Oh yeah big time. Even those with straight hair know what I am referring. Now lets mix in salt from the sea or pool chemicals. This is going to hurt. Now your hair gets stripped of its oils, accelerates undesired color tones, and can even create barriers due to metals that adhere to as well as within the hair shaft. Don’t believe it. Fine, but after a long weekend in the sun take some time to examine your hair in the mirror. Do you see any differences? We bet you do.

Ah, but there is a balance. May we suggest scheduling a treatment to counter balance all that fun you are having outdoors. You know, stop those brassy or yellowed blonde tones, correct that red in your brunette, and rehydrate those locks. Yes redheads you too are invited.

Don’t you want your hair to feel soft again?

Remember, wear those sun hats to stop your hair color from going to where you don’t want it to go, and come in to get some shine protection on Fridays. UV is around us all year long, and I want to make your hair color looks its best all year long as well. All you have to do is to ask me what I can do to help your hair looks its best. I would love to share my 30-years of knowledge with you. Summer damage control is official here.

SO LET IT BE BLONDE

So Let It Be BLONDE!

Okay, so we going to give you the skinny on Lohan’s new blonde hair color that took over 10 hours to do. According to our industry sources her dark brunette colored hair was stripped, and re-colored. Ouch!!! Can we say maybe her hair is not touchable? Probably not, but this is definitely not what you woman want to be doing to your own hair. Why you ask? Read on to understand the process.

Lohan’s previously dark colored hair was first stripped using a color remover (AKA bleach). Because her color was so dark the bleached hair tones are brassy, and the hair shaft is left feeling similar to a pot scrubber. Next, the toning which adds another chemical process further roughens the hair shaft. Although industry sources say they did use a non-ammonia based product to tone her hair; it is still a chemical, and really not the right one in this salon’s opinion. It also explains why her new blonde hair color still looks so gold-yellow. Poor thing. It’s why this San Francisco hair salon offers to every woman that wants to do this type of transformation that does not have VIP funding alternative choices.

Don’t get us wrong we love doing dramatic hair color changes for women; however, in reality most women do not have that type of disposable funding let alone the correct hair integrity, and Lohan’s hair integrity isn’t looking that great. Our advice; stick with the hair color you love no matter what shade of blonde it is. The hair color rush is usually one that you cannot afford unless you’re a VIP that is.
